X.Marianna Zamaroni is so far only known through the parish records of Coglio and Giumaglio, Ticino canton, Switzerland. She was the daughter of Pietro Zamaroni. Her relationship to Francesco Zamaroni1 is unknown but she was about a generation older, judging from the ages of their children. Marianna married Giovanni Antonio Lafranchi (Sr.)3 on October 20, 1735, and became his third wife. Giovanni Antonio had one son with his first wife, but he died in childhood, and one or two daughters with his second wife. Marianna and Giovanni Antonio went on to have six more children together. Their blended family was:

Giovanni Antonio Lafranchi may have died in 1749, prior to birth of daughter Margherita.[Bap 1749] As such he would have been about 41 years old.
Marianna (Zamaroni) Lafranchi lived until at least 1752 when she was named as godmother to Maria Domenica Delnotaro, whose mother, Margherita (Boggione) Delnotaro of Avegno, may have been a relative.[Bap 1752]

Antonio had fathered one son with his first wife and four children with his second, but only one is known to have survived to adulthood.
Domenica and Antonio married on November 9, 1773, at the Church of Santa Maria del Carmelo in Coglio. Recorded witnesses to the their marriage were Antonio's brother Giovanni Giacomo Caneverini and his son Giovanni Antonio Caneverini.[Mar 1773]
Domenica and Antonio chose the following godparents for their children:
- Francesco: Don Giovanni Francesco Pozzi (II)•, an uncle to Antonio's third wife, and Maria Caterina (Caneverini) Pozzi, sister-in-law to Giovanni Francesco Pozzi (II)•[Bap 1775];

Giacomina (ZAMARONI LAFRANCHI) CERINI2
12.Maria Giacomina Zamaroni2 was probably born in Avegno, Ticino canton, Switzerland, in 1752 or 1753. She first married five-time widower Giovanni Battista Lafranchi4 in Coglio, 10 kilometers upriver, in 1775. Of his six children from his previous marriages about three survived. Giacomina and Battista went on to have six children together. After Battista's death Giacomina remarried to Antonio Cerini (V)5, a widower with four surviving children, on April 24, 1784, at the Church of Santa Maria del Carmelo in Coglio. She and Antonio had one more son together. Her blended families looked like:
(A26JB) | Maria Apollonia Lafranchi | 8 Nov 1756 | (1802-1813) | (45-56) |

126. | Giovanni Giacomo Cerini | 8 Jun 1785 | 29 Mar 1848 | (62) |
Giacomina and Battista wed but five months after the birth of a son and the loss of his wife. They married on March 4, 1775, at the Church of Santa Maria del Carmelo. Before their marriage they obtained dispensation from the Bishop of Como to forgo the traditional three declarations, likely because Giacomina was already pregnant, as evident by the birth of their first son five months later. Recorded witnesses to their marriage were Giacomina's brother Francesco Zamaroni and Pietro Zamaroni, both of Avegno.[Mar 1775] Battista and Giacomina had four children together.
Giacomina and her husbands chose the following godparents for their children:
- Battista (Jr.) (elder): Giovanna Giacomo Pozzi and Mrs. Maria Domenica (Fanora) Lafranchi[Bap 1775], Battista's cousin and his late wife Giovanna's mother;
- Antonio: Giovanni Antonio Delnotaro and Mrs. Giovanna Maria (Caneverini) Guglielmetti[Bap 1776];
- Caterina (elder): Carlo Antonio Pozzi and Giacomina's sister Maria Caterina Zamaroni of Avegno[Bap 1778];
- Caterina5 (younger): Giacomina's brother Martino Zamaroni and Mrs. Maria Caterina (Caneverini) Pozzi, Battista's cousin; and
- Battista: Pietro Zamaroni and Maria Caterina (Caneverini) Lafranchi[Bap 1781];
- Giacomo: Giovanni Giacomo Pedrotti, apparently his namesake and Giacomina's stepson-in-law, and Mrs. Maria Angela Cerini, the wife of Giovanni Cerini.[Bap 1785]
Giovanni Battista Lafranchi died between 1783 and 1784, when his grandson Giovanni Antonio Pedrotti was born.[Bap 1784] As such he would have been about 51 years old.
After Battista
Giacomina went on to remarry to Antonio Cerini (V)5 and became his fourth wife. They wed on April 24, 1784, at the Church of Santa Maria del Carmelo in Coglio. Recorded witnesses to the their marriage were Giacomo Pietro Pozzi, Antonio's son-in-law, and Giovanni Giacomo Pedrotti[Mar 1784], husband of Giacomina's eldest stepdaughter Maria Apollonia Lafranchi. Antonio was about 46 years old and Giacomina was about 32.[Cen 1795] Antonio and Giacomina went on to have one more son together.
In 1795, the Cerini household in Giumaglio included Antonio's two youngest sons, their wives (which included Giacomina's daughter Caterina5 who had married Antonio's son Pietro Antonio), their children, and Giacomina's and Antonio's son Giacomo.[Cen 1795]
Antonio Cerini5 died between 1802 and 1805 and Maria Giacomina (Zamaroni Lafranchi) Cerini2 followed on December 22, 1806.[Dth 1806] He was in his early 60s and she around 52 or 53 years old.

Maria Caterina (ZAMARONI) GIUMINI (~1761-<1789)
14.Maria Caterina Zamaroni was probably born in Avegno, Ticino canton, Switzerland, in 1760 or 1761. She married the widower Giuseppe Maria Giumini of Giumaglio, 11 kilometers upriver. Caterina had as many as five children before her early death but only one may have survived to adulthood. After her death, Giuseppe remarried to Maria Margherita Respini of Cevio and had one more son:
141. | Maria Domenica Giumini | 1786 | (> 1817) | (> 30) |
142. | Giuseppe Giumini (Jr.) | 7 Jun 1789 | 28 Jan 1848 | (58) |
143. | Pietro Martino Giumini | (1791-1792) | (< 1808) | (Childhood) |
144. | Giovanna Maria Giumini | 1794 | -- | -- |
145. | Giovanni Antonio Giumini | (1795-1798) | -- | -- |
-- | Carlo Antono Giumini | 22 Feb 1800 | 13 May 1835 | (35) |
Giuseppe had been married to Marianna Delnotaro but she died in Giumaglio on May 22, 1784[Dth 1784], a mere five weeks after their marriage.[Mar 1784] They had no children.
Caterina and Giuseppe chose the following godparents for their children:
- Domenica: Carlo Antonio Pozzi and Mrs. Maria Lucia (Maschino) Gaspari[Bap 1786]; and
- Giuseppe: Pietro Giumini and Mrs. Anna Maria (Franzoni), wife of Carlo Antonio Pozzi.[Bap 1789]
- No baptism records found in Giumaglio for Pietro Martino, Giovanna, and Antonio.
Caterina in turn was named as godmother and apparent namesake to niece Maria Caterina Lafranchi[Bap 1778]; and niece Maria Caterina Caneverini.[Bap 1779]
Maria Caterina (Zamaroni) Giumini died between 1795 and 1798. She was likely in her mid-30s.[Cen 1795]
The 1795 parish census of Giumaglio recorded the family with Giuseppe, Caterina, and their four children. It identified Caterina as Giuseppe's second wife and later added infant son Giovanni Antonio followed by the addition Giuseppe's subsequent wife, Maria Margherita Respini.[Cen 1795]
After Caterina
Giuseppe remarried to Maria Margherita Respini of Cevio, about 8 kilometers upriver, on Saturday, June 9, 1798, at the Church of Santa Maria Assunta in Giumaglio.[Mar 1798] They had one son together and named his godparents as Margherita's brother Carlo Antonio Respini (Jr.) and Giuseppe's cousin Mrs. Maria Maddalena (Giumini) Piezzi.[Bap 1800]
Giuseppe Maria Giumini died sometime before 1808 while in his 40s.
Margherita, stepson Giuseppe, and son Carlo Antonio were recorded together in the 1817 parish census.[Cen 1817]
Maria Margherita (Respini) Giumini may have died during the gap in parish records that continued unitl 1826 and therefore would have been in her 50s.
