Afte World War II broke out, Alex filed his declaration for naturalization in Detroit on April 21, 1942[Nat 1942] and six days later registered for the draft in Wyandotte. His draft record listed him as living at 1117 7th Street but working as a self-employed farmer at 42159 Judd Road in Belleville, where daughter Stella lived. He was described as 5'3" tall, 160 pounds, with gray eyes, graying brown hair, and a ruddy complexion.[Draft 1942]
