Domenica (TOGNAZZINI) TOMASINI (1723-<1764)

1X. Maria Domenica Tognazzini may be the daughter born to Giovanni Pietro Tognazzini (Jr.) and Maria Righetti on April 14, 1723 in Someo, Ticino, Switzerland. She married Giovanni Antonio Tomasini, son of Pietro, on April 23, 1743, in Someo. The had at least six children:

Giovanna (TOGNAZZINI) PEZZONI (~1728-1765)

X1.Giovanna Maria Tognazzini was born about 1727 or 1728. She married Giovanni Giacomo Giacometti, son of the late Giacomo, on February 26, 1743, in Someo.^{[Mar 1743]} She and Giacomo may have had at least one son before Giacomo's death on February 12, 1760.^{[Dth 1760]} Giovanna remarried to Giovanni Antonio Pezzoni, son of Carlo, on April 15, 1760^{[Mar 1760]} and had at least one daughter before her death the following year:

Witnesses to Giovanna and Giacomo's marriage were Giovanni Giacomo Righetti, who married six days before them, and Giovanni Pietro Lanotti.^{[Mar 1743]}

Giovanni Giacomo Giacometti died at his home in Someo on February 12, 1760, at the age of "about 52 years" old. He was buried the following day in the cemetery in Someo.^{[Dth 1760]}

Giovanna remarried two months later to Giovanni Antonio Pezzoni. Antonio was likely the widower of Maria Margherita Righetti, the daughter of the late Giovanni Giacomo, whom he married in 1746.^{[Mar 1746]} Witnesses to Giovanna and Antonio's marriage were Giovanna's brother Antonio Tognazzini and her likely son Giovanni Giacomo Giacometti (Jr.).^{[Mar 1760]}

Giovanna and Antonio chose Giovanna's brother, Antonio Tognazzini, and Mrs. Giovanna Maria (Righetti) Tognazzini, Giovanna's sister-in-law, as godparents to daughter Apollonia.^{[Bap 1764]} Antonio apparently named their daughter for his late mother Apollonia (Camani) Pezzoni (~1693-1729), who died the week before his fourth birthday.

Giovanna was in turn named as godmother to Eustachio Guerra, whose godfather was her brother Antonio Tognazzini^{[Bap 1760A]}; Maria Anna Giacometti^{[Bap 1761]}; Giovanni Antonio Coppi, whose godfather was her brother, Pietro Tognazzini (Jr.)^{[Bap 1763A]}; Maria Anna Tomasini^{[Bap 1763B]}; Giacomo Bonetti (Jr.)^{[Bap 1763C]}; and Giacomo Pietro Caligari.^{[Bap 1765]}

Antonio likewise was named as godfather to Carlo Caligari^{[Bap 1759]} and Giovanni Ambrogio Tomasini.^{[Bap 1760B]}

Giovanna Maria (Tognazzini Giacometti) Pezzoni died at the family home in Someo on November 13, 1765. The day before she was in such as state that she was barely able to confess so her last rites were rushed and incomplete, which the chaplain blamed on her family members. Giovanna was buried the following day in the cemetery in Someo. She was reported to be "about 37 years" old.^{[Dth 1765]}

Two months after Giovanna's death, Antonio remarried to the widow Mrs. Maria Giacomina (Dalidio) Lanotti on February 10, 1766, in Someo. Before their marriage they received dispensation for the fouth degree of affinity (i.e., related by marriage rather than by blood, which suggests that Giacomina was a relative of Giovanna Maria). Recorded witness to their marriage were Pietro Perinoni and Giovanni Battista Lanotti, who may have been Giacomina's son.^{[Mar 1766]}

Giovanni Antonio Pezzoni died on January 3, 1773, in Someo. He as reported to be "about 50 years" old and was buried the following day in the cemetery in Someo.^{[Dth 1773]}

Pietro TOGNAZZINI (Jr.) (<1733->1772)

X2.Pietro Tognazzini (Jr.) was the son of a Pietro Tognazzini (Sr.). He married Giovanna Maria Righetti, daughter of the late Silvestro, on August 11, 1746, in Someo^{[Mar 1746]}, and had at least one daughter.^{[Bap 1759]} After Giovanna's death in 1772, Pietro remarried to the widow Mrs. Anna Maria (Martocchi) Ferrari.^{[Mar 1773]}

Before their marriage, Pietro and Giovanna obtained dispensation for the impediments of the third degree of consanguinity in one line and the fourth degree in another (i.e., second and third cousins, however, the exact connections of their relationships is not known). Recorded witnesses were Giovanni Pietro Lanotti and Giovanni Pietro Coppi ^{[Mar 1746]}

Pietro and Giovanna chose Giacomo Bonetti (Jr.) and Mrs. Maria (Perinoni) Righetti as godparents for daughter Giovanna.^{[Bap 1759]}

Pietro was in turn named as godfather to Giovanna Righetti^{[Bap 1760A]}; Maria Caterina Morganti^{[Bap 1760B]}; Giovanni Antonio Coppi, whose godmother was Pietro's sister, Giovanna Maria (Tognazzini) Pezzoni^{[Bap 1763A]}; Maria Caterina Tognazzini^{[Bap 1763B]}; and Maria Caterina Francesca Righetti.^{[Bap 1764B]}

Giovanna was in turn named as godmother and apparent namesake to Giovanna Maria Tomasini^{[Bap 1761]}; Antonio Coppi^{[Bap 1763C]}; Maria Caterina Bonetti^{[Bap 1764A]}; Maria Apollonia Pezzoni, Pietro's niece^{[Bap 1764C]}; Pietro Antonio Tognazzini^{[Bap 1764D]}; possibly (maiden name not stated) Giovanna Maria Righetti^{[Bap 1766]}; and Maria Bettanta.^{[Bap 1769]}

Giovanna Maria (Righetti) Tognazzini died on November 6, 1772, in Someo. She was "about 40 years" old and was buried in the cemetery at Someo.^{[Dth 1772]} She and Pietro had been married 26 years.

Pietro remarried three months later to the widow Mrs. Anna Maria (Martocchi) Ferrari on February 6, 1773. Anna, age 40, had been widowed eight months and had about six surviving children between the ages of 1 and 16 from her first marriage. Witnesses to their marriage were Pietro Abbondio Perinoni and Giacomo Tomasini.^{[Mar 1773]}

Giovanni Antonio TOGNAZZINI (~1724-1760)

Y1.Giovanni Antonio Tognazzini was born about 1723 or 1724 to a Giovanni Domenico Tognazzini.^{[Mar 1743]} He married his third cousin, Benevenuta Pezzoni, daughter of Carlo, on April 23, 1743, in Someo.^{[Mar 1743]} He was about 19 years old and she may have been as old as 33.^{[Dth 1760,1775]} They had at least seven children, including twin girls:

Giovanni Antonio Tognazzini died on March 18, 1760, at his home in Someo. He was "about 36 years" old. He was buried the following day in the cemetery in Someo.^{[Dth 1760]}

After Antonio's death, Benevenuta was named as godmother to her nephew Antonio Maria Dalidio.^{[Bap 1765]}

Benevenuta (Pezzoni) Tognazzini died at her home in Someo on September 15, 1775. She was "about 65 years" old. She was buried the following day in the cemetery in Someo.^{[Dth 1775]}

Domenico TOGNAZZINI (Jr.) (<1740->1763)

Y2.Domenico Tognazzini (Jr.) was the son of a Domenico Tognazzini (Sr.).^{[Mar 1753]} He married Anna Maria Franscioni, daughter of the late Giacomo Antonio, on April 30, 1753, in Someo. They had at least three daughters:

Y3.Giovanna Maria Tognazzini was the daughter of a Giovanni Domenico Tognazzini.^{[Mar 1743]} She married Giovanni Giacomo Righetti (Jr.) on February 20, 1743, in Someo.^{[Mar 1743A]} They had at least three children before Giacomo's death in 1763:

Witnesses to their marriage were Pietro Perini and Giovanni Antonio Filipponi.^{[Mar 1743A]} Six days later Giacomo served as witness to the marriage of Giovanni Giacomo Giacometti and Giovanna Maria Tognazzini.^{[Mar 1743B]}

Giovanna and Giacomo chose the following godparents for their children:

• Giovanna: Giuseppe Righetti (Jr.) and Mrs. Margherita (Tognazzini) Perini^{[Bap 1760]};
• Caterina: Giuseppe Righetti and Maria Teresia Bettanta.^{[Bap 1763]}

Giovanni Giacomo Righetti (Jr.) likely died on June 11, 1763 at his home in Someo, however, he was recorded as the son of Giacomo Pietro Righetti. He was "about 49" years old and was buried the following day in the parish cemetery of Someo.^{[Dth 1763]} He was recorded as deceased when his daughter Maria Caterina was born five months later.^{[Bap 1763]}

Giovanna Maria (Tognazzini) Righetti died at her home in Someo on February 18, 1783, at the age of "about 54" years. She was buried at the parish cemetery in Someo.^{[Dth 1783]}
