During the third year of the American Revolutionary War, Ebenezer enlisted as a private in the Continental Army at the age of 39, on August 9, 1778, and assigned to Captain Robert Earl's company from Dartmouth, under Colonel Josiah Whitney's regiment. He signed up for nine months and trained in Rhode Island for a month before eventually deploying north to Springfield, Massachusetts, in October 1779, where he signed up for another nine months and August 2024was variously placed under the commands of the 6th company of Colonel Hathaway's regiment, Captain L. Bailey's company, and Captain Woodbridge's company. Ebenezer was discharged on April 11, 1780. His service records describe him as 5' 10" tall with a dark complexion, brown hair, and gray eyes.

August 2024Ebenezer continued to live in Dartmouth in 1800 and was enumerated there with his presume wife, Jean, and three children: an apparent son (Isaac) and daughter (Sarah) between the ages of 16 and 26, and a younger boy under the age of 10. Also enumerated on the same page, ordered alphabetical by surname rather than geographically, were the households of Maxon Mosher (1722-1800s), a second cousin; Jethro Mosher (1769-1839), a first cousin, once removed; Stephen Mosher, and Elizabeth Mosher.[Cen 1800]

Ebenezer Mosher reportedly died on May 2, 1824, in Dartmouth, at the age of 84 years.

Jean (Craw) Mosher reportedly died 14 years later on May 7, 1838, in Newton, Middlesex County, Massachusetts, at the age of 97 years.
